Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz put the red shoe on the map and it hasn’t gone anywhere. I love adding a colorful pop to a muted outfit, to send the look over the edge. The best way to carry off this idea, is to keep the crux of the ensemble muted with like colors. I love “earth tones” in the Fall. Sticking with browns, tans, and oranges complement the season and also the bold color of ruby red. You can still create umph with your look by combining different fabrics, like leather and fur. This will add texture and richness. When the shoe comes, no one will know what hit them, even though its just a pop.
