Christian Dior introduced it in the late 1940’s using the term “H Line” to differentiate from his fuller option known as the “A Line”. Slim fitting, straight, narrowly cut and generally falling just below the knee and with a tailored fit, the trend took off. It was and still is our modern pencil skirt. With the lust of fine fabrics like wool and tweed prints, this fashionable style has been a hit for women in the workplace. But why stop there? A girl on the go can easily take this trend and turn out a totally tweaked take. I love combining looks that you wouldn’t normally put together. Adding an edgy pump, like these gladiators, or a hip uncharacteristic blouse revamps this classic style statement. Keeping clothes inventive and unique is what fashion is all about. So, make sure you pencil it in.
