Best Coats Of The Season!

While some of us might not be ready to admit that fall is on its way, for girls living anywhere other than Los Angeles, it’s already here! Time for a guide to the best coats of the season.

Color:

Winter may be synonymous with drab weather and grey skies, but the best way to combat the winter blues is to layer on the brightest outerwear you can find. I love the bold or dramatic hues paired with grey suede over the knee boots – it’s the perfect way to cheer me up on those gloomy winter mornings. Colorful outerwear can come in a variety of lengths, but I prefer when a coat hits right above the knees. The major takeaway is don’t be afraid of colors – try pink, bright red, a royal blue or even a bright print. It’ll brighten up your closet and the winter blues!

Texture:

Not sure if you’re the type who can rock a full length teddy bear coat? Think again. The comfier the coat, the more wearable it becomes. As a friend to the animals, I always try to stick with faux fur, but I love that they come in so many colors. While black, grey or nude might seem like the safest choice, I love the faux fur comes in a variety of colors and styles. I love the multicolored bomber or cropped jacket paired with a tee and high-waisted skirt or jean.

Length:

The days of duster coats are not over. Try to revamp last season’s style by selecting a coat in fall and winter’s favorite trend, velvet. I love mixing different fabrics – so try your velvet coat with leather joggers. Streamline your look by wearing all black, or try brightening up your outerwear by selecting a duster coat in a light pink or camel. Cropped coats or jackets are some of my favorites to wear. No matter your body type, compliment the cropped jacket with flattering bottoms. Whether your heading to work or play, re-vamp your winter wardrobe with a coat (or two) that makes you want to get out and show winter weather who’s boss.
