Accessories: The Power Of!

I’ve never been the kind of girl who’s craved a lot of accessories. I never got behind the big jewelry trends like bohemian bangles or big chunky necklaces, and I’ve always tried to steer clear from the “of the moment” trends. If you’re anything like me, you’ve always opted for priceless pieces over flashy faux gemstones. However, you don’t have to completely avoid the accessories section of your favorite retailer to find something that works for you.

After getting engaged, I’ve found myself paying way more attention to jewelry. It’s a way to add that perfect extra touch to an outfit. My favorite look right now is a thick-jeweled choker. As temperatures continue to drop and we near the holiday season, I love how it looks paired with cozy cashmere sweaters. For days when I’m looking to add a couple more gems to my everyday look, I’ll reach for simple ear cuffs. If I’m really trying to mix it up, I’ll even wear two separate earring sizes on each ear.

Jewelry isn’t the only way to add an extra touch to an outfit. A velvet handbag is the perfect fall accessory – whether a clutch, tote or crossbody, velvet additions are no longer reserved for black tie. Try mixing formal accessories in with your everyday wear. Another fall favorite is the mini bag. I love a deep wine color or embossed fabric with unique hardware. My advice: Beware of the limited space and try to cut down on your handbag essentials.
