There is something to say about the phrase travel is good for the soul. During Milan Fashion Week, my fiancé and I decided to take a “day of calm” as a break from the busyness of fashion month. With all that Italy has to offer, it would be a waste to not venture out of the city. Every time I see a new part of the world, I am completely inspired in a completely new and different way. Especially in a country like Italy and a city like Bellagio, the colors of the architecture, the beauty of the nature, and the calm and thoughtful lifestyle that is the Italian culture, I was left with a new feeling of wholeness. Everywhere you walk provides for a new backdrop and every gelato shop provides for a new need for resistance, or lack thereof. With fashion front of mind during Milan Fashion Week, I was especially influenced by the colorful city of Bellagio in Lake Como. In a floor-length Missoni maxi dress, I felt at home with the warm-colored stripes and sparkling material. With comfortable white sneakers and a deep blue Bulgari bag, I felt that there was no better way to accent such a beautiful trip and such a flawless experience.
