With Independence Day in the USA a mere 4 days away, everyone from California to the New York Island is thinking about festive wear. For me, a holiday should not be an excuse to dress in costume but rather pay homage to the celebration of its originating sentiment. My take on stars and stripes is a more mature, elevated red, white and blue. I personally prefer to focus on one aspect of thematic symbolism, be it a color, pattern or symbol. This holiday season, I am choosing classically 4th stripes in the form of a polished Tibi tunic as the perfect complement to all-American cut-offs, lobster tails and popsicle drips.
